It takes time and effort to teach children how to learn spelling and repeat words in a sentence. Learning to spell can become challenging and repetitious for children, but there are several ways you can keep the process fun for your child.

Five are listed below!

Make A List Of Rhyming Words To Practise

Introduce children to the notion of rhyming words and provide them with various examples. Begin by giving them a word and then asking them to develop their own rhyming rhymes.  You can assist them in practising by having them pronounce a word and then finding several more words that rhyme with it. Additionally, make a list of phrases that rhyme, and urge your kids to do the same.

A common word pattern such as “at” would be excellent to start. Demonstrate to them how to create a list of words that rhyme by changing the letter in front of “at” (e.g., bat, cat, hat, rat, mat).

If your child struggles with writing English spelling, you can encourage them to try typing, using magnetic letters, or creating words out of Playdoh or Wikki Stix instead.

Break It With Beats

Make it easier for your child to remember each syllable by dividing them into smaller parts. The term “beats” may be used by students as young as kindergarten. It is a well-known approach to English education across the world. Clapping the word together, one clap per syllable, will help children figure out how many ‘beats’ or syllables are in a word.

Use Image-Based Flip Cards To Learn English Spelling

The traditional manner of spelling out words may be more entertaining by using flip cards, such as a memory game based on flip cards. Then, print out some cards with words that graphics can represent. Have them write their English spelling down separately or in pencil on the back of their cards. Choose a card and have your child spell it out for them if you choose.

Sing the Syllable

It’s an excellent way for youngsters to learn about the mechanics of language through rhyme. It encourages students in being more aware of and adept at manipulating the sonic properties of words. As experts have highlighted, this is one of the most frequently used ways for simplifying the process of how to learn spelling for kids. You may generate a melody by just repeating or singing the letters of the word aloud. Your youngster should be able to recall the word’s rhythm and tone even if they forget its spelling, and this music should act as a reminder.

Memorisation

Teach your youngster the traditional approach of memorising spelling terms. Make a copy of the word and show it to your youngster. Explain how she can use her mind’s eye to imagine a word. After then, ask her to close her eyes and visualise the word letter by letter. Then have her say the word aloud to see whether she got it right, and then open her eyes to confirm that she did. Proceed to the next word by repeating the previous step.

When it comes to mastering the art of how to learn spelling, visual memorisation, also known as rote memory, is a tried and tested approach.
